Postal law was passed through people’s Majilis and president implemented in 23rd may 2006.
The 100th anniversary of post service was celebrated on 1-11-2006: The event’s chief guest was President H.E Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom.
In 2006 a stamp exhibition was held at male’ and Addu atoll, the exhibition in male’ was held at national art gallery.
The company’s new building’s cornerstone was laid and construction work began.
On 14th February 2007 “personalized delivery service” was introduced and for the first time “rose delivery” service was given.
“Atoll post unit” was created and established in order to widen the postal network.
Maldives post service participated in the 24th congress of universal postal union, which is held every 4 years. The congress was held at Geneva, Switzerland.
Introduction of “domestic mail order” service on 31st May 2008
Collection of payment for MWSC bills service began in April 2011
Collection of payment for STELCO bills service began in May 2011.
The agreement between the company and bank of Maldives on giving community banking service was signed on 9th October 2011.
Agreement signed on 09th October 2011 with media net to provide some of their services under the concept of one stop service center.
